Bougouriba: The High Commissioner of the Bougouriba province, Amidou Konat©, initiated the start of the Brevet d'©tudes du premier cycle (BEPC) 2026 session by opening the first envelope containing the language test. This act marked the official commencement of the written and oral examinations in the province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch event was attended by the Provincial Director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training, Abdoulaye Sawadogo, the Provincial Director of the National Police, the commander of the gendarmerie company of Di©bougou, and educational supervisors. A total of 1,662 candidates, comprising 812 boys and 850 girls, are participating in this session of the BEPC, distributed across six examination boards and eleven secondary centers throughout Bougouriba.
Mr. Sawadogo noted a slight increase in the number of candidates compared to the previous session, with three additional registrations this year. He expressed optimism about the outcomes of the exams, attributing potential success to the efforts of teachers, supervisors, and schools, despite challenges such as staff shortages and financial constraints. He emphasized the dedication of all stakeholders in the education system and their hopes for results that reflect their sacrifices.
The current session is characterized by the implementation of the Competency-Based Approach (CBA), which introduces new educational directions and subjects aligned with this reform. Sawadogo highlighted the significance of this pedagogical shift and the need for educational authorities to monitor its impact on candidates' performances under the new regulations. He encouraged students to perform to the best of their abilities.
High Commissioner Amidou Konat© urged jury members and organizers to maintain vigilance to ensure the exams proceed smoothly. He stressed the importance of adhering strictly to exam rules to prevent any issues, expressing hope for a successful continuation of the exams.
In addition to the BEPC, Bougouriba is also conducting examinations for the Certificate of Professional Aptitude (CAP), with 104 candidates, including 82 boys and 22 girls, registered for these assessments.
