Bougouriba Bondigui Leaders Reaffirm Commitment to National Symbols

Bougouriba: The Saint Jean de Phariyago Catholic Private Primary School served as the setting, on Monday, May 4, 2026, for the monthly ceremony of raising the national colors, presided over by the Secretary General of the Bondigui Town Hall, Corneille M. Zoungrana, in the presence of the heads of the decentralized services and the educational community.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this event was organized in accordance with national guidelines as part of an ongoing effort to promote civic responsibility and strengthen social cohesion through respect for the symbols of the Republic. The ceremony witnessed significant participation from local stakeholders, including administrative authorities, community leaders, and students and staff from the host institution.

In his address following the flag-raising ceremony, Mr. Zoungrana emphasized the importance of this initiative within a national context marked by the need to strengthen civic engagement and patriotism. He commended the strong public participation in the Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation Days held during April, urging them to maintain this momentum.

Mr. Zoungrana, addressing public service employees, emphasized the values of rigor, discipline, and dedication in carrying out their civic duties. He urged them to redouble their efforts to effectively meet the needs of the population and contribute to local development.

Addressing the educational community, Mr. Zoungrana commended teachers for their unwavering commitment to supporting students, despite the challenges they face. He encouraged students to demonstrate diligence and perseverance, especially as the end-of-year exams approach, which are crucial for their academic success.

Established every first Monday of the month, the flag-raising ceremony aims to revive patriotic sentiment, strengthen unity between public officials and the population, and promote the fundamental values of responsibility, discipline, and service to the Nation.

The next flag-raising ceremony is scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2026, in a public service in the municipality of Bondigui. Closing the ceremony, the Secretary-General thanked all participants for their mobilization and invited them to continue their efforts in a spirit of civic engagement and national solidarity.
