Boromo: The Boromo National Police Provincial Headquarters hosted the final act of the rotating celebration of the raising of the colours in the services on Monday, December 2, 2024. The ceremony was an opportunity for police officials to take stock of the activities carried out in 2024.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was hosted by the central police station of Boromo, where the first provincial head of the national police, Principal Henri Joël Sanou, provided a comprehensive overview of the year’s activities. During their sovereign mission, police officers checked 2 million people through patrols and fixed checks, resulting in 713 arrests for identity checks or various offenses, with 250 procedures transmitted to the public prosecutor’s office.
In their efforts to combat child trafficking, the police successfully intercepted 300 minors while they were on the move. Additionally, more than 25 million CFA francs were collected in simple police fines and paid into the public treasury.
The
administrative services also demonstrated significant activity, legalizing 12 thousand documents for users and producing 22 thousand national identity cards through the ONI service. Central commissioner Ludovic Domboué highlighted the police’s active role in combating terrorism, crediting the successful outcomes to collaboration with other services and local populations.
The head of the Bale province, Ibrahim Boly, commended the provincial leadership of the national police for their achievements. He expressed admiration for the agents’ daily sacrifices and patriotism in defending and securing the territory, and renewed his encouragement for all defense and security forces in the province.
High Commissioner Boly also emphasized the importance of the raising of the colours, noting that the national colours symbolize unity, solidarity, pride, and the memory of predecessors who served the nation with integrity.
