Erbil: A booby-trapped drone was shot down Thursday night near Erbil International Airport in northern Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, said local authorities. A drone was shot down at 9:58 p.m. local time (1858 GMT) without causing casualties, the regional Directorate General of Counter Terrorism said in a statement. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Kirkuk international airport in northern Iraq was also under rocket attack late Monday, causing one injury, said local authorities.
