Windhoek: The Bank of Namibia (BoN) has launched the Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob Commemorative Banknote, honoring the late former President of Namibia and his contributions to the nation.

According to Namibia Press Agency, BoN issued a press release on Tuesday stating that the issuance of the banknote is in accordance with Section 38 (1) of the Bank of Namibia Act 2020 (Act No. 1 of 2020) as amended, which grants the Bank of Namibia the exclusive mandate to issue legal tender, including commemorative banknotes and coins.

The banknote has been designed to recognize Dr. Geingob's leadership and dedication to peace, inclusivity, and resilience. It not only commemorates his achievements but also celebrates Namibia's progress as a nation shaped by his leadership.
