ADDIS ABABA — Bole Road, recognized as a vital commercial artery in Addis Ababa, has undergone extensive developments as part of the city’s corridors revitalization scheme, reflecting significant urban and economic growth.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Bole Road has been the focus of recent urban development initiatives, which include the construction of 4.3 kilometers of roadwork and 10 kilometers of pedestrian walkways. The scheme also encompasses the development of 13.2 kilometers of bike lanes and the installation of 30,160 square meters of granite and basalt walkways, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetic of the area.

This bustling hub, situated near Bole International Airport, provides crucial connectivity across the city and hosts a variety of businesses, hotels, restaurants, and shops, making it a magnet for both local and international visitors. The revitalization project has also included the development of 30 bus and taxi bays, construction of 10 car parking stations, and the creation of more than 10 small public parks and plazas. Additionally, over 500 roadside buildings and houses have been renovated, further contributing to the area’s vibrancy and appeal.

The comprehensive development of Bole Road not only highlights Addis Ababa’s commitment to enhancing urban infrastructure but also serves to attract further economic activity and tourism, thereby solidifying the city’s status as a key commercial center in the region.
