A 36-year-old truck driver was traveling with his truck on the N1 Road 10 km from Ventersburg towards Kroonstad on the 27 July 2023 at about 04:45.

Apparently, a white Nissan NP 200 with an unknown registration number with a blue light stopped the truck. One African male approached the driver and asked him for his driver’s license. The second African male was standing next to the truck with a hand gun, they forced him back into the truck and tied him up at gun point.

He later managed to untie himself and stopped a passer’s by and was taken to Ventersburg Police Station to report the incident. A case of Armed Robbery was registered as six (6) Dunlop truck tyres were stolen from the truck.
