BOGANDÉ — The residents of Ningangou, a village in the commune of Bogandé in Burkina Faso’s Eastern region, successfully completed road repairs under the supervision of security forces led by Captain “Thor” of the 19th Rapid Intervention Battalion. The two-day effort, which took place on September 17 and 18, involved laying concrete over the damaged foundation to improve access for the local population.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the villagers worked in coordination with the Provincial Directorate of Infrastructure of Gnagna, using heavy equipment to restore a passageway damaged by rainwater over the past two years. The presence of Captain Thor and his men ensured the safety of the workforce, allowing the project to be completed without incident.
The roadwork was crucial in addressing long-standing safety concerns, as several accidents had occurred on the damaged foundation prior to its closure due to insecurity.
