Bogandé Residents Clear Bushes to Enhance Security on Nagaré-Kongaye Axis

BOGANDÉ — On Saturday, August 17, 2024, the residents of Bogandé undertook a community effort to clear dense bushes and trees along the Nagaré-Kongaye axis of National Road 18, aiming to eliminate potential hiding spots for terrorists and improve the visibility and safety of road users.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this section of the road, particularly around the village of Dagadou, has been known to harbor terrorists who use the area to pass through and occasionally conduct illegal checks on travelers. Armed with machetes and axes, the community members—men, women, and youths alike—worked together to clear the vegetation. The operation was conducted under the protection of the BIR 19 fighting forces and local Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), who ensured the security of the site during the activity.
