Bogandé: Rapid Intervention Battalion Neutralizes 86 Terrorists, Captures 2 in Operation FLASH

BOGANDÉ — The 19th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR 19) has successfully neutralized 86 terrorists and captured two others during Operation FLASH, conducted from August 6 to 10, 2024, in the Manni area. The operation, led by a commander known as “Thor,” resulted in the recovery of significant equipment from the terrorists.

According to Burkina Information Agency, which targeted terrorist fighters, lookouts, and supply elements, was executed with precision by the combat forces of BIR 19. The sources reported that despite the intensity of the operation, only four members of the combat forces were injured. Two of the injured were evacuated for further medical care, while the other two were treated on site, and all are reported to be in stable condition.

The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Burkina Faso’s military to combat terrorist threats in the region and secure areas that have been plagued by instability. The successful outcome of Operation FLASH underscores the effectiveness of BIR 19 under the leadership of its commander, “Thor,” as they continue to engage in operations aimed at restoring peace and security.
