Bogandé Launches First Maracana Vacances Culture Tournament with a Draw Between FC MAÇON and FC MACB

BOGANDÉ — The inaugural Vacances Culture et sports maracana tournament kicked off on Sunday, August 4, on the municipal grounds of Bogandé with a goalless draw between FC MAÇON and FC MACB.

According to Burkina Information Agency, a member of the organizing group from Bogandé and currently serving in Kaya, the tournament aims to foster social cohesion and keep young people engaged during vacation periods. The event, dubbed ‘Holidays Culture and Sports in Bogandé’ (BO.VA.CS), includes 12 teams and seeks to promote a culture of cohesion, fraternity, and solidarity among the youth, which is essential for maintaining peace in the community during challenging times in Burkina Faso.

The event was attended by numerous supporters, provincial authorities, and sponsors, many of whom are former players from Bogandé. Notably, the representative of His Majesty Yempaabou Lankoandé, Diayoudi Robert Lankoandé, and the longest-standing sponsor, Ouoba Tianhouri Dimanchi, praised the initiative for its role in promoting peace and harmonious living. The day continued with a second match where FC Yandouama defeated the Patriotes 1-0.

The technical commission, led by the provincial direction of Sports and Leisure of Gnagna, has announced that the tournament’s final is set for September 9.
