Bogandé Honors Volunteer Blood Donors and Economic Operator for Their Lifesaving Contributions

BOGANDÉ – In a ceremony held on Friday, February 16, 2024, in Bogandé, the local association of voluntary blood donors paid tribute to five volunteer blood donors and an economic operator for their dedicated efforts in supporting blood donation initiatives.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the honorees, comprising five individuals who regularly donate blood and an economic operator who has supported the cause, were recognized for their unwavering commitment to saving lives through blood donation. The event was attended by administrative officials, health personnel from the Bogandé health district, and members of the community.

Each recipient was presented with a certificate of recognition and a blood donation badge by the National Blood Transfusion Center, signifying their contribution to the community’s health and well-being. The acknowledgment brought immense satisfaction to the awardees, highlighting the importance of their contributions to the local healthcare system.

Oumarou Tindano, the 2nd Vice-President of the special municipal delegation of Bogandé, who presided over the ceremony, expressed gratitude towards the winners for their acts of solidarity towards patients in need. He also extended his appreciation to the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors of Bogandé and the health personnel for their relentless efforts in ensuring the availability of blood products for transfusion.

The Chief Medical Officer of the Bogandé health district underscored the critical role of blood donors in saving lives and enhancing patient health within the district. He utilized the occasion to appeal for increased support for the association, emphasizing the vital need for continuous and reliable blood donations to meet the healthcare demands of the community.
