Bobo-Dioulasso Music Arrangers Boost Skills Through FBC Office Training Program

Bobo-Dioulasso – In a significant development for the music industry in Bobo-Dioulasso, the FBC office firm has successfully concluded a training program aimed at enhancing the skills of local music arrangers. On Friday, February 9, 2024, a ceremony was held to award certificates to a dozen arrangers who participated in the initiative, marking their progress towards greater professionalism in the field.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the promoter of FBC office, the training was designed to address the gaps in the knowledge and skills of young music arrangers, many of whom had learned their craft through on-the-job experience. The program, titled “Project to Strengthen the Capacities of Ten Amateur Arrangers from the Hauts-Bassins Region Working in Music Recording Studios,” was executed over six months in Bobo-Dioulasso. It covered essential topics such as the structuring of an arrangement studio, computer-assisted music, and intellectual property rights, combining theoretical and practical learning approaches.

The need for such a program emerged from observations that many arrangers were operating in makeshift studios and providing services to artists without formal training, leading to productions of suboptimal quality. Sankara emphasized that the training equipped the arrangers with foundational skills necessary to produce works of impeccable quality, moving forward.

The initiative received support from the Cultural and Tourist Development Fund (FDCT), whose Bobo-Dioulasso head of agency, Issa Barry, encouraged the beneficiaries to pursue further training to achieve excellence. Siaka Sanou, the regional director of Culture, Arts, and Tourism of Hauts-Bassins, echoed this sentiment, praising the initiative for its role in strengthening the capacity of music arrangers in the region.

This training program represents a significant step towards professionalizing the music industry in Bobo-Dioulasso and enhancing the quality of music production in the region.
