Bobo-Dioulasso: About 200 packs of expired drinks were seized during an inspection carried out by the Regional Directorate of Industry, Commerce and Crafts of Hauts-Bassins (DRICA-HBS) in the Koloko area, according to a press release received by AIB on Wednesday. The inspection aimed at ensuring consumer safety and adherence to regulations governing the sale of consumable goods.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the DRICA-HBS document states that the inspection team seized these expired products, as well as 35 shisha aroma cartridges and 341 shisha devices in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to maintain public health standards and prevent the distribution of potentially harmful products.
“These products are harmful to the health of the population, and the Ministry of Commerce, as well as its branches, call on economic operators to respect their obligations in terms of consumer protection,” the press release states. The authorities emphasize the importance of compliance with consumer protection laws to safeguard public health.
According to the note, the ministry is firmly committed to combating illegal competition practices and assures that offenders will be punished accordingly to their offences. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to ensure fair trade practices and uphold lawful business operations in the region.
