ZABR‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬¦¡¬°: The Burkina Mining Company (BMC), currently operating under the name Soleil Ressources, has donated 20 tons of rice to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable groups in Zabr©. This effort, conducted on December 31, 2024, aims to address the pressing needs of communities affected by insecurity and socio-economic challenges in the region. The donation ceremony took place at the Zabr© town hall, attended by local authorities, BMC representatives, and beneficiaries.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the prefect and president of the special delegation of Zabr©, Alain B. Bassono, expressed deep gratitude towards BMC for their intervention at a crucial time. “This donation shows BMC’s commitment to contribute to the well-being of local communities, beyond its mining activities,” Bassono stated. He emphasized the relief the food supplies would provide to many families in need, acknowledging the municipality’s limited resources.

BMC’s director of community relations, Antoine Attiou, emphasized that the donation is part of the company’s ongoing social responsibility efforts. He highlighted BMC’s intention to maintain a supportive presence in local communities and encouraged collaboration and understanding from the residents. Attiou also called upon customary and religious leaders to continue their prayers for peace in Zabr© and throughout Burkina Faso.

The donation was met with visible emotion from the recipients. Rimmalgd© Ou©draogo, representing the IDPs, conveyed heartfelt appreciation, noting the critical timing of the support: “We were in a very difficult situation, and this support comes as a blessing.”

BMC, now known as Soleil Ressources, continues to demonstrate its commitment to corporate social responsibility through tangible actions aimed at improving the lives of those in their operating regions.
