Bittou Students Rally Support for National Defense Efforts with Financial Contribution

BITTOU – Students from the General Education College (CEG) of Bittou have made a notable contribution to the national defense efforts by donating 44,000 FCFA to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) of Bittou. The donation ceremony took place on Saturday, February 25, 2024, at the Bittou municipal stadium during the launch of the ‘Director’s Cup’ maracana football competition, organized by the school’s director, NOBA Harouna.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the funds were presented to the municipal authorities in a gesture of support for the local defense and security personnel. The event also featured the opening match of the Director’s Cup, which saw the teachers’ team emerging victorious against the students with a score of 2-1. The presence of Banao Sonie, commander of the Bittou gendarmerie brigade and representative of the president of the special delegation, underscored the community’s collective effort to bolster the morale and resources of those safeguarding the nation.
