BITTOU — The leaders of the commune of Bittou have successfully gathered 762,425 FCFA for the acquisition of a drone intended to aid the combat forces of the Center-East region. This funding initiative, completed on Saturday, August 31, 2024, reflects the community’s proactive approach to supporting regional security efforts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the fund-raising event not only secured the necessary funds for the drone but also facilitated an additional donation for the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) of Bittou. The contributions to VDP included 3 tons of 25 kg rice bags, 20 cans of 5-liter oil, various condiments, and other necessities, underlining the community’s commitment to backing its defense forces comprehensively.
The acquisition of the drone and the provision of substantial supplies to the VDP are part of a broader strategy to enhance the capabilities and readiness of the forces tasked with maintaining security in the region. The municipality’s efforts demonstrate a significant level of local support for national defense initiatives.
