Bittou Hosts Exemplary Tax Day to Mobilize Local Resources

Bittou: The special delegation of the municipality of Bittou, in the province of Boulgou, organized on Thursday a day of exemplary taxation, marked by a strong mobilization of the population and local authorities, AIB observed.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the activity, held at the Bittou departmental tax center, was chaired by the President of the special delegation (PDS), Mohamed Lamine Diabat©, in the presence of constituted bodies, departmental tax officials as well as the vital forces of the commune. This day is part of the month of exemplary taxation initiated by the country's highest authorities. It aims to promote tax compliance and responsible citizenship, essential for sovereign and sustainable economic and social development. It also aims to mobilize more internal resources for the benefit of the municipality.

In his address, PDS Mohamed Lamine Diabat© urged residents to actively participate in mobilizing local resources. "The development of our municipality depends on our ability to rely on our own resources," he stated. He emphasized that these resources would enable the municipality to address the numerous development challenges it faces. Mr. Diabat© also expressed his satisfaction with the strong mobilization surrounding this initiative.

Speaking in turn, the departmental director of taxes for Bittou, Prosp¨re Kabor©, praised the commitment of the local authorities and the enthusiasm of the population. He took the opportunity to explain the benefits of paying taxes, emphasizing that these contributions are essential for financing local development initiatives. According to him, the day is mainly devoted to the payment of certain taxes, including the residence tax, the weapons tax, and the motor vehicle tax (VAT). He urged citizens to go to the relevant offices to declare and fulfill their tax obligations to the municipality.

Many citizens responded to the call, fulfilling their tax duties and receiving their receipts. The turnout remained steady as we left.
