Bittou Association Distributes 14 Tons of Food to Orphans of Fallen Fighters

Bittou: An association donates 14 tons of food worth 8 million FCFA to the orphans of fallen fighters. The Association of Youth for Development and Social Cohesion of Bittou (AJDCSB) once again demonstrated its solidarity with vulnerable groups by distributing food estimated at more than 8 million CFA francs on Monday. The handover ceremony was held at the Bittou bus station, under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of the Boulgou province, Constantin Dabir©.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Animal Resources and Fisheries, administrative and local authorities, as well as religious and traditional leaders. Many members of the association, from several villages in the commune, were also present. The donation, consisting of approximately 14 tons of corn and rice, is intended for the orphans of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell in the fight against terrorism.

The president of AJDCSB, Inoussa Guetkila, stated that this action is the result of the collective efforts of the association's members through the cultivation of a community field. "This is not our first action to benefit vulnerable people. We have already carried out two similar operations, notably in May 2025 and March 2026," he mentioned. Mr. Guetkila also highlighted the difficulties the association faces, including a lack of agricultural equipment, transportation, operating funds, and the need for training for its members. He commended the community's commitment and mobilization during the food distribution ceremony and thanked the authorities for their support.

The High Commissioner of Boulgou praised the initiative, encouraging other associations to follow suit in order to strengthen solidarity within communities. "This initiative is to be commended given its social impact and the conditions under which this food was produced," he emphasized. With over 1,000 members, the AJDCSB is gradually establishing itself as a key player in local development and social cohesion in the municipality of Bittou.
