Bittou: Solidarity, fraternity, and living together were on display Friday afternoon at the Bittou multipurpose hall field, during the final of the inter-community football tournament organized by the Tin-Tua Association in collaboration with the DRCI project. Held under the banner of community building and social cohesion, this sporting event brought together administrative authorities, representatives from various communities, the DRCI representative, and numerous supporters from across the municipality. The official kickoff was given by the Secretary General of Boulgou Province, Yao Lalle dit Siaka, representing the High Commissioner of the province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the final pitted the Yarce community against the Fulani community in a festive and friendly atmosphere. During the two 25-minute periods, both teams put on a show that was well-received by the audience. At the end of regulation time, the Yarce prevailed against the Peulhs after the penalty shootout, with a score of 1 goal to 0.
The tournament aims to promote closer ties between communities, strengthen social cohesion, and create spaces for dialogue and fraternity between populations. The winning team took home the trophy, 40,000 FCFA, and two balls. The runner-up team received 30,000 FCFA and one ball. The two other participating teams, representing the Bissa and Songhai communities, each received 15,000 FCFA.
The president of the special delegation of the municipality of Bittou praised the fair play that characterized the competition and thanked the Tin-Tua Association for this commendable initiative. He also called on the various communities to preserve unity, peace, and social cohesion within the municipality.
