MURANG’A: As Grade 6 and Form 4 students across the county prepare for their national examinations, Bishop James Maria Wainaina of the Catholic Diocese of Murang’a has encouraged them to approach the tests with courage and confidence. Speaking during a prayer day event at Kiangunyi Girls High School in Kangema, the Bishop also emphasized the importance of collective support from all education stakeholders to ensure a smooth examination process.
According to Kenya News Agency, Bishop Wainaina highlighted the need for emotional, physical, and spiritual support for candidates during the examination period. He advised the students to focus on their studies and avoid distractions, assuring them of his prayers and best wishes for their success. The event underscored the role of community and religious leaders in bolstering the morale of students facing important academic milestones.
Additionally, Ms. Scholastica Waweru, the Principal of Kiangunyi Girls High School, reported that the 199 candidates at her school h
ad undergone rigorous preparation through intensive revision programs. She expressed confidence in their ability to perform well, noting that weekly exams had been part of their preparatory routine. Ms. Waweru reassured students that the national exams, although conducted on a larger scale, were similar in nature to their regular assessments.
In Murang’a County, a total of 31,684 candidates are registered to take the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams across 344 centers, while 23,346 Grade 6 students will sit for the Kenya Primary School Assessment (KPSEA) in 624 centers. The KCSE exams are scheduled to commence on October 22, with KPSEA rehearsals beginning on October 25 and examinations starting on October 28.
