Luanda: The bishop of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World (Tocoista), Dom Afonso Nunes, urged the faithful of the congregation on Tuesday in Luanda to use the mass media, mainly social media, to spread the gospel. Dom Afonso Nunes made this appeal during the opening of a methodological seminar on pastoral ministry, where he emphasized the importance of using social media to promote a more peaceful and harmonious society.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Dom Afonso Nunes highlighted the necessity for believers to communicate effectively and utilize social media appropriately to disseminate the gospel message. He emphasized the need for perseverance in studying the sacred scriptures, which would enable the faithful to become wise and efficient in conveying the word of God.
The seminar, as explained by the cleric, aims to train ministers of worship in crucial areas such as evangelization, Christian education, finances, and the proper management of the Church. Dom Afonso Nunes expressed that
the training program is designed to invigorate the church, making it more active, responsible, and capable of understanding the signs of the times.
The three-day workshop is part of the Jubilee celebrations of the Pastoral Ministry and is attended by 300 delegates from Angola, São Tomé and Príncipe, Portugal, Spain, Germany, France, and Belgium.
