Bingo: The commune of Bingo officially welcomed the third cohort of its agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) on Tuesday, June 23, as observed by AIB. These newly trained entrepreneurs, who have completed their training at the Matourkou Agricultural Centre, were presented to local authorities in a ceremony held at the town hall.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was presided over by Yacouba Gouem, President of the Bingo Special Delegation (PDS), accompanied by Roger Ou©draogo, Secretary General of the town hall. The event also saw participation from Yassia Ou©draogo, representing the Departmental Water and Forestry Service, and Rasman© Sawadogo, head of the Bingo Agricultural Technical Support Zone (ZATA).
The ceremony provided an opportunity for the six members of the new cohort to engage with their predecessors from the inaugural group, which consisted of twenty-five members previously trained in Di©bougou. Yacouba Gouem praised the dedication of these young volunteers and reaffirmed the commitment of the municipal technical services to assist them in developing and efficiently operating their future shared production site.
This initiative aligns with the national resilience strategy, primarily focusing on enhancing food self-sufficiency and boosting local economic development in Bingo.
