Baz¨ga: Teachers from the Baz¨ga province gathered in Kombissiri on April 8 and 9, 2026, for the "48 Hours of the Teacher." The event, which featured several activities, aimed to promote the teaching profession and strengthen the skills of those involved in the education system through the exchange of experiences.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the 48-hour Baz¨ga Teachers' Day in the Nazinon region took place on April 8 and 9, 2026 in the town of Kombissiri. The theme of these days was: "Role and place of education stakeholders in restoring peace and strengthening social cohesion."
The coordinator of the organizing committee, Jean Paul Some, emphasized the goal of these days to enhance the teaching profession, promote the exchange of experiences, and strengthen the capacities of actors in the education system. The event began with the raising of the colours and the performance of the national anthem in the national language moore within the provincial directorate of preschool, primary and non-formal education of Baz¨ga, in the presence of the Defence and Security Forces (FDS).
This event provided an opportunity for the provincial director in charge of primary education, Claude Ouedraogo, to highlight the patriotic and civic commitment of every Burkinabe to sovereignty, through the main theme of the national days of patriotic commitment and civic participation: "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let us cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption."
The 48 hours of the teacher were marked by communications on the theme of the event, followed by panels and exchanges of experiences between education actors. The program also included a market street promoting local food, sports sessions, women's and men's football matches, board games, a blood donation operation, performances by artists, and a recreational evening.
The 48 hours of the teacher of Baz¨ga were presided over by Tene Justine Kientega/Ilboudo, high commissioner of Baz¨ga, sponsored by Dr. Christian Felix Ouedraogo, and co-sponsored by Claude Ouedraogo.
