Kombissiri: The Central Police Station of the city of Kombissiri conducted an operation to seize adulterated drinks and prohibited products on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Kombissiri. The operation resulted in the seizure of several batches of adulterated beverages and prohibited products.
According to Burkina Information Agency, officers from the Kombissiri Central Police Station were deployed throughout the city to combat the sale and consumption of adulterated beverages and prohibited products, which have become a significant public health and safety issue for the population. On the specified date, under the coordination of the Baz¨ga Provincial Directorate of the National Police, the Kombissiri Central Police Commissioner, Boureima Kouss©, and his officers conducted an operation to seize these beverages and products.
The objective of this operation, as explained by Commissioner Kouss©, was to combat the proliferation, sale, and consumption of these products and beverages. The mission aimed to clean up the market for these products and to deter and discourage merchants who engage in the sale of these beverages and products. The operation led to the seizure of several cartons of adulterated beverages and prohibited products, including 106 packets of "ICE" drinks, one and a half cartons of "Vody" drinks, and seven cartons of "Cyclone" drinks.
The Central Police Commissioner of Kombissiri noted that the operation was well-received by citizens, who welcomed the initiative. Many citizens believe this action will have a positive impact, especially during the holiday season. They hope for the regular continuation of such operations to protect public health and clean up the local market. The Commissioner explained that the mission of this operation was to demonstrate to the public the dangers associated with consuming these products, raise awareness, and highlight the illegal nature of their sale.
Establishment owners serving alcoholic beverages within 400 meters of protected sites, such as schools, healthcare facilities, places of worship, cemeteries, community centers, and other public organizations dedicated to the physical and moral development of young people, are urged to comply with current regulations regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages. This seizure of adulterated beverages and prohibited products is part of Operation "WIBGA."
