Bazèga: The Rayimi Kudemdé festival to promote social cohesion in Doulougou

The youth of Doulougou organized on Sunday March 19, 2023, the first edition of the Rayimi Kudemdé festival, in order to promote social cohesion and peace.

“We must work to promote our culture, work to find the lost cultural assets and work to prevent these assets from disappearing,” suggested Sambo Ilboudo, president of the organizing committee of the Rayimi Kudemdé festival.

For him, this festival will be a way to further unite the youth of Doulougou and promote social cohesion.

The event was characterized by a bicycle race, a dance competition (warba, liwaga, mennim) and gala matches opposing on the one hand the customary chiefs to the young people of the commune, and on the other hand married people to single people.

The customary chiefs emerge victorious from this match following a goal scored in the first half.

The singles won easily against the married couple by three goals to nil.

At the end of this festival, all the participants in the various competitions received awards.

The canton chief Naaba Saneem expressed his joy at the success of this festival and wished the initiative every success.

“Seeing a youth mobilized in this way, you need a place where they can meet to discuss in order to find suitable solutions to develop their municipality and I think that we have a duty to support them. It’s a promise that I make” affirmed the godfather Saidou Compaoré.

He underlined that the theme: “For peace and social cohesion” of this first edition of the rayimi kudemdé festival carries a great message that fits with the security context in Burkina Faso.

As a reminder, since 2015 Burkina Faso has been plagued by the terrorist hydra causing deaths and internally displaced persons.

For Saidou Compaoré, it will be necessary to work to perpetuate the gains made and to work in such a way as to improve future editions because no development is possible without social cohesion.
