The curtains closed this Sunday, September 10, 2023 in Kombissiri on the first edition of the “Nayiri sonsga” Story Nights which began on September 8. Several storytellers and traditional singers who took turns on the stage of the courtyard of the palace of the chief of the canton of Kombissiri amazed the large audience.

The “Nayiri sonsga” Storytelling Nights is an initiative of young Burkinabè artists from the commune of Kombissiri grouped within the Association for Cultural Recognition (ARC).

The objective according to the president of the association, Saïbo Conombo, is to transmit traditional and cultural values to the younger generation through traditional tales and songs and to create a framework for exchanges between the elders of the Kombissiri palace and the population. for messages of peace and social cohesion.

Placed under the theme “Raising awareness among communities about the values of peace through traditional and cultural values”, the first edition of the “Nayiri sonsga” Story Nights took place each evening in the palace courtyard in the presence of Naba Saaga, head of the Kombissiri canton and patron of the event, the administrative authorities and the very numerous public.

Around twenty traditional local singers and storytellers, men, women and children who followed one another, kept the spectators in suspense every evening at the palace.

The various performances made it possible to trace the history of the lineage of the traditional chieftaincy of Kombissiri and to convey life lessons, messages of peace and social cohesion.

The last evening of the nights was an opportunity for the organizers to award certificates of recognition to certain actors who contributed enormously to the holding of the first edition, notably Naba Saaga, head of the canton of Kombissiri and the provincial director of culture, of arts and tourism in Bazèga, Stéphane Boua.
