Baz¨ga: The people and key stakeholders of Baz¨ga province pledged on Saturday, January 24, 2026, in Kombissiri, to strengthen social cohesion and patriotism. This commitment was made in the presence of several dignitaries during a large public conference, at which food aid was distributed to those in need.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference room at Kombissiri town hall was overflowing with people on the afternoon of Saturday, January 24, 2025. The event was marked by the mobilization of the people and vital forces of Baz¨ga province for a major public conference under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of Baz¨ga, T©n© Justine Kientega/Ilboudo. Themed "Strengthening Social Cohesion and Patriotism," the conference was attended by a large number of prominent figures, including Lieutenant Colonel Lassan© Porgo, Commander of the 2nd Military Region.
Organized by the African Forces Movement and civil society organizations (CSOs) in Baz¨ga, this public conference provided an opportunity for the province's residents to demonstrate their commitment to social cohesion and patriotism. In their speeches, the canton chief of Kombissiri Naaba Saaga and the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Kombissiri Boukary Porgo welcomed the holding of this event, which, according to them, will strengthen community spirit and patriotism.
Mr. Kientega/Ilboudo emphasized that social cohesion is the foundation of living together, the key to stability, peace, and sustainable development. "We have a collective duty to preserve this cohesion, to strengthen it and to pass it on to future generations," she stated. The representative of the sponsors, El Hadj Mahamadi Zoungrana, also called for unity and solidarity among the sons and daughters of the province to support and accompany the actions of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, for the sovereignty and development of Burkina Faso.
The conference featured a presentation by the Nazinon Regional Director of Human Rights, Souleymane Sawadogo, who highlighted the values of patriotism and social cohesion, and the attitudes to adopt. The discussions allowed the audience to contribute to strengthening patriotism and cohesion.
Lieutenant-Colonel Lassan© Porgo, in his address, emphasized the importance of order and discipline in daily conduct and urged the people to adopt patriotic behavior to support the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) for the sovereignty and development of Burkina Faso. The conference also recognized women who had received training in soap making and the production of K´k´ dunda loincloths, presenting them with certificates.
In addition to distributing food to internally displaced persons and impoverished people in the province, conference participants spontaneously collected 113,375 CFA francs for vulnerable people as part of the "Deme Sira" solidarity campaign.
