Ouagadougou: The public transport company (SOTRACO) will soon extend its services to the municipalities of Kombissiri and Sapon. This decision follows a workshop held on June 4 in Ouagadougou to validate the company's new bus network routes in the city and surrounding municipalities, AIB has learned.
According to Burkina Information Agency, SOTRACO will now serve the municipalities of Kombissiri and Sapon in the Baz¨ga province. The decision was made during the national workshop for the validation of the company's new regular and inter-municipal bus routes, held on June 4th in Ouagadougou.
These inter-communal lines, which will soon be operational in these communes of the Baz¨ga province, are the result of advocacy by the Prefects Presidents of the special delegations (PDS) of Kombissiri and Sapon, who welcome the decision taken by the SOTRACO officials.
For the Sapon Camarade K´ti No«l Sanou party, this new bus line will facilitate the mobility of workers and especially students who lack transportation to attend university in Ouagadougou. The line, which will reduce distances, will allow the municipality to attract more visitors and showcase its potential.
Comrade Boukary Porgo, PDS of Kombissiri, noted that the upcoming opening of the line is a long-expressed need by the people of the commune. He emphasized that this line, which will ease travel to the capital Ouagadougou, is an important factor in road safety given the large number of accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles on the route.
