Bassirou Badini Appointed Head of Northern Regional Service at Editions Sidwaya

OUAHIGOYA — In a significant move for Editions Sidwaya, Bassirou Badini has been appointed as the new Head of the Northern Regional Service, a transition orchestrated by the Secretary General, Noufo Enock Kindo, on behalf of the General Director, Assétou Badoh Guira. This decision marks a pivotal moment for the media house as it aims to bolster its presence and impact in the Northern region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the installation ceremony, which took place on June 28, 2024, saw Noufo Enock Kindo formally hand over responsibilities to Mr. Badini in the presence of local media personalities and officials, including the Regional Director of Human Resources, Abou Barro, and the Editorial Director of Sidwaya, Jean-Marie Toé. The ceremony was held at the Administrative Service office, which also houses the Northern Regional Communication Directorate.

Bassirou Badini takes over from Fleur Birba, who led the Northern Regional Service for four years and was praised for her dedication and leadership during her tenure. In his inaugural address, Badini expressed his commitment to addressing the communication challenges of the region and pledged to work closely with all stakeholders to enhance Sidwaya’s image and coverage.

The Secretary General commended Fleur Birba for her contributions and encouraged Badini to maintain a strong presence in the region, take proactive measures to report local realities, and support local authorities amid ongoing security and humanitarian challenges.
