Kenedougou: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Banzon commune, Sie Poda, inaugurated the activities of the Organization of Sport, Culture, and Recreation in Primary Schools (OSCLEP) for the Banzon Basic Education District (CEB) on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Sinfara. The event attracted education sector stakeholders and local community leaders, marking the commencement of a significant initiative aimed at promoting unity through sports and cultural activities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the 2026 edition of OSCLEP in the Banzon Basic Education District is themed "Solidarity and Living Together: Building Unity in Diversity." It seeks to foster social cohesion and instill civic values among students. The program kicked off with an opening match between Sinfara Primary School and the Kounseni team, resulting in a 2-0 victory for Sinfara.
The Head of the Banzon Basic Education District (CEB), Jean Ernest Sanon, emphasized that these inter-school competitions are designed to enhance student cohesion while nurturing values such as respect, solidarity, peace, and academic excellence.
President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Banzon, Sie Poda, commended the initiative for its contribution to the holistic education of students, highlighting the importance of integrating sport and culture into the academic framework.
This year's edition of OSCLEP will include sports such as football, handball, and athletics, alongside cultural activities like drawing, poetry recitals, and artistic performances.
