Banwa: The provincial water and forestry service offers a tree to each participant in the flag-raising ceremony in Solenzo. According to Burkina Information Agency, participants in the traditional raising of the colours on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the provincial directorate of water and forests of Solenzo were each awarded a tree to be replanted.

The ceremony saw the gathering of the Banwa province's constituted bodies, including the Defense and Security Forces, the agricultural VDP, and the civilian populations, all united around the flagpole of the provincial directorate of water and forests for the traditional event of the month.

Following the flag-raising, High Commissioner Sanfi©nal© Joseph Sirima expressed gratitude to the FDS and VDP for their ongoing efforts in maintaining security. The ceremony culminated with symbolic tree planting by provincial authority figures, including the commander of the 18th Rapid Intervention Battalion, Captain Papa Parfait Kambou, and traditional leader representative Herv© Coulibaly.

Alban Rodrigue Ou©draogo, the provincial director of water and forests, utilized the occasion to distribute a variety of trees to the 125 participants, offering options such as the flamboyant tree, melina, cashew, eucalyptus, lemon, baobab, and mahogany, with the intention of aiding in the re-greening of Solenzo.

High Commissioner Sirima also informed the attendees about the upcoming arrival of the Faso Mªbo brigade in D©dougou at the regional level, and shared plans for initiating beautification projects in Solenzo in the near future.
