Banwa Population Unites for Road Maintenance Initiative

Banwa: The population of the commune of Tansila, located 55 km from Solenzo, in the Banwa region, mobilized on Thursdays April 9 and 16, 2026 for maintenance work on a section of the provincial road linking Tansila to Solenzo, which was severely degraded.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the deteriorated state of the road, primarily due to rainwater, has led to numerous accidents, prompting the National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC) in Tansila to urge the community to participate in the road's maintenance. Sangoana Dioma, President of CNAVC in Tansila, highlighted the necessity of the initiative to improve traffic conditions.

The community responded to the call by working alongside the coordination team and local authorities. Together, they filled the potholes with stones and earth, utilizing tractors and tricycles for the transport of materials essential for the road's rehabilitation.

Amadou Coulibaly, President of the Special Delegation of Tansila municipality, visited the work site to commend the participants for their efforts. He encouraged continued unity among the population in such community-driven projects, reinforcing the message that collective actions like these reflect the vision supported by the region's leadership.

CNAVC spokesman Amidou Senou expressed his satisfaction with the community's participation and urged them to maintain their efforts for the commune's development. He extended gratitude to all contributors who provided resources and assistance, emphasizing that the work would persist as long as resources permit.
