Nahouri: The Zecco Basic Education District (CEB) wrapped up its sporting and cultural festivities with a thrilling football finale, where the Bankaka school team emerged victorious against the Barre school team in a nail-biting penalty shootout, winning 4-3.
According to Burkina Information Agency, students from the Zecco Basic Education District, located approximately forty kilometers east of Po, engaged in a variety of competitions over the past three weeks. The events, themed "Sport and culture, a factor of social cohesion," aimed to foster social harmony and team spirit among the participants, as highlighted by Vincent Sia, the Head of the basic education district of Zecco.
Mr. Sia emphasized the importance of these activities in promoting values ??such as social cohesion and team spirit, which are highly endorsed by the country's top authorities. He urged the community to recognize the developmental benefits these events provide for children.
The Bankaka school was crowned champion, securing their victory through a tense penalty shootout, earning them a reward of 30,000 CFA francs, two balls, and a set of jerseys. Meanwhile, the Barre team received a consolation prize of 25,000 CFA francs, two balls, and a set of jerseys.
Additionally, the event recognized students excelling in jumping, speed, and artistic performances. This year's edition was notably sponsored by Koudougou Sia, a prominent figure from the commune of Ziou and president of the Burkinab¨ associations in Ivory Coast.
