Windhoek: Bank Windhoek recently hosted the Central Estate Agent Awards in Windhoek to recognise estate agents and agencies for excellence in property finance performance, transaction volumes, and specialist categories across the central region. According to Namibia Press Agency, the bank stated in a media release on Tuesday that its Annual Estate Agent Awards recognise residential and commercial estate agents, agencies, and developers from the central, coastal, and northern regions. Bank Windhoek's Chief Financial Officer and Acting Executive Officer of Specialist Finance, Zenaune Kamberipa, highlighted in his keynote address at the event that Namibia's property market has shown steady progress over the past year despite economic pressures. Kamberipa noted that the property market has experienced measured growth, with rising house prices, firm rental demand, and resilience despite global and local pressures. However, he acknowledged that affordability challenges continue to affect many prospective homeowne rs. He emphasized that Bank Windhoek remains committed to supporting solutions that expand access to housing while safeguarding long-term financial stability. According to the bank, the awards are part of its commitment to strengthening partnerships within the property sector and supporting sustainable growth in Namibia's housing market. Among the notable winners were Maans Dreyer of Aqua Real Estate Trust, who received the gold award in the Achiever of the Year category for Farm Bonds, and Petrus Kotze of The Property Corporation, who received the bronze award. In the category for Estate Agency with the Highest Volume of Transactions, Okomita Property Development was awarded silver, while bronze awards were presented to Yellowsquare Properties Trust and Rightmove Properties Windhoek. The Achiever of the Year award in the Windhoek area, for estate agents achieving loan business of N.dollars 20 million or more, was awarded to Jacko Koen of Okomita Property Development.
