MOMBASA: Bandari FC and Murang’a Seal settled for a goalless draw in an FKF Premier League encounter at KPA Sports Club Stadium on Saturday, with neither side able to capitalize on several opportunities to secure a win. Despite dominating possession, Bandari struggled to break through Murang’a Seal’s resilient defense, while the visitors posed a threat on the counterattack but failed to find the net.

According to Kenya News Agency, the match featured notable moments, including Bandari’s William Wadri crossing to Beja Nyamawi in the 21st minute, who narrowly missed a clear chance to score. Shortly after, Murang’a Seal was awarded a free kick, taken by former Bandari player Joe Waithira, which also failed to result in a goal. Bandari’s young talent, Izzadin Ramadhan, attempted to make an impact early in the second half with a promising dribble past two defenders, but his shot went wide.

A significant turn of events occurred in the 90th minute when Shariff Majabe of Bandari received a red card for foul play, l
eaving the team with ten players. In the closing moments, Murang’a Seal’s Kiplangat John nearly clinched victory with a quick shot, only to be thwarted by Bandari goalkeeper Bryne Omondi.

Post-match, Bandari’s Coach, Ken Odhiambo, voiced his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance, citing it as their worst and pointing to the international break as a factor affecting team chemistry. Conversely, Murang’a Seal Coach, Abdallah Juma, expressed satisfaction with the draw, praising his players’ efforts and commending goalkeeper Ambuka Morgan for earning his first clean sheet of the season.

The result leaves Bandari in fourth place on the league table with eight points, as they prepare for their next match against Talanta FC.
