Bandari FC Draws with Bidco United in Kenya Premier League Clash

Mombasa — Bandari FC was held to a 1-1 draw by Bidco United in a pivotal Kenya Premier League match at Mombasa Sports Club. The game, which took place over the weekend, saw both teams share points after a tightly contested battle. Captain Andrew Juma of Bandari FC opened the scoring just before the halftime whistle, executing a powerful header from William Wadri’s corner kick. However, the lead was short-lived as Bidco United responded in the second half. Emmanuel Mogaka equalized from the penalty spot in the 60th minute after Dan Guya was penalized for a foul inside the 18-yard box.

According to Kenya News Agency, the match was expected to be challenging. He noted that Bidco United’s strategy aimed to secure a draw, which they achieved, marking their fifth draw in the last six games. Baraza expressed concerns about his team’s ability to finish scoring opportunities, referencing their failure to capitalize on chances in both this match and their previous loss to Ulinzi. He indicated that improving finishing skills would be a focus in training to secure victories in upcoming matches. On the other side, Anthony Akhulia, head coach of Bidco United, commended his team’s performance, emphasizing their success in drawing the game, which was part of their tactical approach.

The result affected both teams’ standings in the league. Bandari FC, having been in second place, dropped to third with 44 points from 26 matches. Meanwhile, Bidco United climbed to ninth, accumulating 34 points from the same number of games. Both teams are looking ahead to their next fixtures, with Bandari set to face KCB and Bidco United preparing for a match against Posta Rangers.
