Bam: The High Commissioner of the Bam province, Karim Ou©draogo, officially launched the civic and patriotic training of students in the intermediate classes of the province at the municipal high school of Kongoussi.
According to Burkina Information Agency, civic and patriotic education is part of the ongoing Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) in Burkina Faso. It involves students in grades 6, 5, 4, 2, and 1 in high schools and colleges across the nine municipalities of the province, and will take place from January 15 to February 14, 2026.
This program includes various educational activities such as theoretical lessons, interactive exchanges, and practical exercises aimed at promoting civic awareness, critical thinking, and solidarity among students.
The High Commissioner emphasized that civic and patriotic education is crucial for raising awareness from a young age. "It is not just about teaching concepts, but about training responsible citizens, aware of their rights and, above all, their duties towards the Nation," he stated.
The provincial authority highlighted that the country's future depends on a well-educated and engaged youth. He stressed the importance of cultivating civic-mindedness and patriotism from a young age to prepare generations capable of defending Burkina Faso's fundamental values and actively contributing to its development.
The provincial director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training, Midon Coulibaly, expressed gratitude to the supervisors for their dedication and assured that this initiative serves as an important complement to traditional schooling and an asset for the comprehensive training of learners.
