Denpasar, Bali — In a move to boost tourism and improve air connectivity, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali has added AirAsia flights to its existing schedule between the Indonesian island and Hong Kong. This expansion aims to accommodate growing travel demands on this popular route.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Bali-Hong Kong route previously saw limited service with only two daily flights operated by Hong Kong Airlines in the morning and Cathay Pacific in the afternoon. The new flights introduced by PT Indonesia AirAsia now offer additional options with departures scheduled at 1:45 a.m. local time. Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, the general manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, highlighted the enhancements during a press conference on Wednesday.
The addition of AirAsia flights is anticipated to further stimulate travel between Bali and Hong Kong, which has already been demonstrating robust demand. The airport reports a seat occupancy rate of 80 percent and an on-time performance rate of 83 percent for this route, indicating strong passenger satisfaction and operational efficiency.
