Balav© Community Unites for Bridge Rehabilitation Efforts

Banwa: The populations of Balav© are mobilizing for the rehabilitation of the Balav©/Solenzo Road. The people of the commune of Balav©, led by PDS comrade Jules Kabor©, organized on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, a day of general interest work dedicated to the rehabilitation of a bridge linking the village of Moussakongo to Balav©.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the bridge, which is in an advanced state of disrepair, is located about ten kilometers from Balav©, sometimes making it difficult for heavy goods vehicles to pass. Large numbers of people came out equipped with tractors, tricycles, picks, shovels, hoes, and many other materials to ensure the success of the work.

Tractors and tricycles were mobilized to transport materials such as pebbles, cement, sand, and gravel, and to bring workers to the work site. On site, visibly moved volunteers contributed financially to cover the cost of transportation in terms of fuel and to provide water for the workers.

To support the commune of Balav©, the High Commissioner of the Banwa province, Sanfi©nal© Joseph Sirima, donated a ton of cement and other materials for the work. At the end of the project, a fully rehabilitated bridge, built using local resources thanks to the determination and resilience of the community, was revealed. In addition to the bridge itself, the surrounding roads were repaired to ensure safe passage. Heavy goods vehicles can now easily drive over and down the bridge.

After the work, the workers expressed satisfaction with this large mobilization and plan to continue the work in the coming days on other construction sites. President Jules Kabor© congratulated and thanked the various stakeholders for their commitment. He reiterated the importance of these public works projects and urged them to continue to turn out in large numbers for future events.
