Pompoi: The members of the Pompoi municipal consultation framework convened for their second session, concentrating on the assessment of investments and construction of infrastructure within the municipality from 2022 to 2024. The discussions also covered partial assessments of school exams, community popular shareholding, and dialogues with the local mining sector.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the special delegation (PDS), Lassan© Guigma, emphasized that the session served as a precursor to the municipality’s accountability day, aiming to disseminate crucial information among stakeholders. The primary agenda revolved around reviewing infrastructure investments and projects slated for 2022 to 2025.

The municipal authorities reported an investment of 889,360,637 million CFA francs out of a projected 999,375,220 million CFA francs, marking a financial achievement rate of 95.69% from 2022 to 2024. Key projects included boundary walls for the Pompoi health center, administrative buildings, boreholes for drinking water, and the procurement of furniture and computer equipment.

Over the three-year period, approximately one billion CFA francs have been channeled into projects enhancing the municipality’s development, significantly transforming this rural community with limited fiscal resources. Funding sources encompassed the local development mining fund, municipal budget, transferred resources, and contributions from the local government development agency.

The PDS highlighted the commune’s heavy reliance on the local mining development fund and urged citizens to consider sustainable development strategies. He called for community engagement, fiscal responsibility, and active participation in municipal budget mobilization through tax payments.

The session also included a presentation on popular shareholding (APEC) by the local subscription committee and interactions with the department of public relations and community groups at the Mana mine. The education department shared a positive assessment of primary and first cycle school certificate exams.

The session concluded with expressions of satisfaction from the PDS regarding the productive discussions and gratitude to the Mana mine for its financial support. The PDS praised the spirit of social cohesion and civic engagement among the community, which has facilitated community-interest activities, reforestation, and beautification projects.

In closing, the municipal authority called on all residents to actively contribute to the commune’s development, emphasizing that it is a collective responsibility to realize the ambitions set for Pompoi.
