According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty King of Bahrain received the Housing Minister to discuss updates on the Muharraq development project, highlighting the government’s focus on improving local infrastructure. Additionally, HM King received a cable of condolences from the President and Vice Presidents of the UAE, indicating strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Further engagements involved His Highness Shaikh Khalid, who met with the ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024 organizing committee, preparing for an international school sports event set to showcase young talent. Meanwhile, the Kuwait Prime Minister’s reception of Bahrain’s Foreign Minister underscores ongoing cooperation between Gulf countries.
The national legislative bodies were also active, with the Council of Representatives
participating in the launch conference of the Arab Parliamentary Women’s Document, aimed at empowering women in legislative roles across the region. Concurrently, the Shura Council conducted its second meeting of the third session in the sixth Legislative Term, continuing its governance duties.
In the educational sector, the Minister of Education inaugurated a universities fair at the Alumni Club, promoting higher education opportunities. In a significant administrative move, the President of the Civil Service Bureau issued a decision to raise the performance reward (Ada’a) to BD 3,000, aiming to enhance public sector motivation.
The Labour Ministry celebrated achieving 100% Bahrainisation at Naseej, reflecting the success of nationalization efforts in the workforce. Additionally, the Supreme Council for Environment launched the ‘Sustainable Water’ national campaign in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme, emphasizing sustainability initiatives.
In the commercial sector, Gulf Air ann
ounced the expansion of its Bahrain-Singapore service to daily flights, boosting connectivity and tourism prospects. Moreover, Joyalukkas unveiled its largest showroom in Bahrain, marking a significant expansion in the local retail landscape.
