Manama: In light of the upcoming International School Games (ISF) Gymnasiade, the Bahrain Ministry of Education has announced adjustments to school dismissal times for the opening ceremony on Thursday, October 24. The event, held under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is set to gather students from across the globe at the Bahrain National Stadium.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the event’s supreme organising committee, has meticulously planned these changes to minimize disruptions while maintaining the educational schedule. Public schools will follow a staggered dismissal on October 24, with primary students leaving at 11:45 a.m., intermediate students at 12:15 p.m., and secondary students at 12:45 p.m. Private schools, while not required, are recommended to dismiss students by 1:00 p.m., provided there are no conflicting schedules like exams.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the Minister of Education, reiterated the ministry’s dedi
cation to the smooth operation of school activities during the ISF Gymnasiade. He noted that the adjusted dismissal times would facilitate better movement for international participants attending the opening event. Furthermore, Dr. Juma expressed gratitude towards the educational and administrative staff for their cooperation and encouraged schools to support and engage with the games, ensuring students can partake in the festivities and support their peers competitively.
