Baba Hama Explores Kinship and Adventure in New Novel ‘Lumière de Guinal’


OUAGADOUGOU – Renowned journalist and cultural figure Baba Hama has released his latest novel, ‘Lumière de Guinal’, which delves into the themes of kinship and jest within a fictional narrative.



According to Burkina Information Agency, ‘Lumière de Guinal’ portrays an epic adventure involving a Fulani shepherd, a Yarga peddler, and a blacksmith. These characters, culturally connected through joking kinship ties, journey together in search of a missing cow. The novel, Baba Hama’s sixth, not only highlights his prolific storytelling ability but also his deep engagement with the cultural tapestry of Burkina Faso. Hama’s literary portfolio, published by Editions L’Harmattan, includes six novels, a collection of short stories, and a narrative, totaling eight works.
