Boulgou: The Association of Widows and Orphans Residents of Bittou (AVORB) closed its literacy activities for the 2025 session in Bittou, on Saturday, May 31, 2025. The closing ceremony took place at the women’s house in Bittou and was chaired by Mohamed Lamine Diabat©, the president of the special delegation of the commune of Bittou. The event was attended by the representative of the head of the basic education district of Bittou, the coordination of women of Bittou, learners, and several guests.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the association has been involved in various activities such as learning and literacy centers, training in poultry farming, and the making of koko donda and Bogola loincloths. The literacy activities for the 2025 session saw a 95% certification assessment rate in their two centers, with 62 learners comprising 11 men and 51 women.
The president of AVORB, Mamouna Sawadogo, stated that the literacy centers were established to promote national languages, aligning with the government’s vision, and to enable citizens to learn to read and write in their native languages. She expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the program.
One of the learners, Assanata Ouandaogo, shared her satisfaction upon receiving her Moore language certificate. The president of the special delegation of the Bittou commune commended AVORB’s initiative, acknowledging its contribution to the development of the Bittou commune.
