Luanda: The Cabinda Border Police Guard (PGFA) seized 34,434 liters of fuel, heading to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) this month: The Cabinda Border Police Guard (PGFA) undertook a significant operation resulting in the seizure of 34,434 liters of fuel intended for smuggling into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
According to Angola Press News Agency, the PGFA's spokesman in Cabinda, Marcos Coxito, detailed that the seizure was part of an initiative named Operation N'sua (Order). This operation, conducted by the National Police, is focused on combating cross-border crimes, particularly targeting illegal immigration, fuel smuggling, and gold mining.
The operation commenced on January 17 and involved various bodies of the Ministry of the Interior within the region. Additionally, authorities confiscated 39 motorbikes, which were allegedly used to transport fuel to neighboring countries. More than 20 individuals have been arrested and accused of involvement in smuggling activities.
