Djibo: The authorities in the province of Soum commenced the written exams for the Brevet d’©tudes du premier cycle (BEPC) and the Certificat d’©tudes primaire (CEP) on Tuesday. The event marked a significant step in the academic evaluation process for students in the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Prefect of Djibo, acting on behalf of the High Commissioner of Soum, Losseni Woni, initiated the BEPC exams by unsealing the first exam packet. This event was attended by various officials including the first vice-president of the special delegation, Sidiki Tamboura, as well as the provincial director of secondary education. The principal of the provincial high school, Iba Souleymane, and members of the defense and security forces were also present.
For this exam session, 308 candidates were registered for the BEPC, comprising 186 boys and 122 girls. Unfortunately, twelve candidates were absent, leaving 296 students to sit for the exam.
Simultaneously, at 7:20 a.m., the Brigade Commander, acting on behalf of the Prefect of Djibo, opened the first CEP exam envelope at the CBNEF. This ceremony was attended by Mr. Hamidou Ciss©, the Provincial Director of Primary Education in Soum. Across the province, 740 candidates registered for the CEP, with 349 of them being girls.
