Addis Ababa – Ethiopia and Canada Discuss Enhanced Bilateral Relations

Ethiopia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Taye Atske Selassie, held a meeting with Robert Oliphant, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, focusing on strengthening the two countries’ longstanding relationship. During the talks, Taye praised Canada for its support and emphasized the potential for increased trade and investment between the nations, specifically in the sectors of digital technology, mining, energy, and manufacturing.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Oliphant expressed Canada’s intention to deepen its engagement with Ethiopia, highlighting trade, investment, humanitarian aid, and development cooperation as key areas of focus. The discussion also touched on regional, continental, and international issues of shared interest.
