Nairobi: Police from Nyahururu Police Station on Monday night nabbed two suspects and recovered assorted house items worth thousands of shillings after a night raid in Nyahururu town. This followed an intelligent report of a suspicious house leading to a security operation during which the two suspects were apprehended while two others managed to escape.
According to Kenya News Agency, Nyahururu Assistant County Commissioner, Joseph Wanyonyi, stated that the two suspects were arrested in the house of one of the suspects. The recovered items included 7 TVs, 12 mobile phones, 5 national identity cards, and 2 motorbikes, among others, all valued at about Sh 600,000.
Wanyonyi mentioned that police officers are pursuing the two suspects who escaped, with the aim of bringing them to justice. The two suspects currently in police custody are set to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
The Administrator urged individuals who may have lost items to visit Nyahururu Police Station to identify their belongings. He also acknowledged the effective collaboration between the public and security agencies, which facilitated the arrest of the two suspects, and encouraged continued reporting of any suspicious activities.
