Asoli Focuses on Windhoek and Swakopmund for Upcoming Elections

Windhoek: The president of the newly formed Association for Localised Interests (Asoli), Joseph Kauandenge, will lead his party in the Regional Council and Local Authority elections scheduled for 26 November 2025, with Windhoek and Swakopmund as their primary targets.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Kauandenge revealed in an interview that although Asoli initially planned to target four local authorities, the focus will be on Windhoek and Swakopmund. He explained that their campaign efforts have been ongoing since the official launch in May 2025.

Kauandenge highlighted the significance of attracting the youth vote, which he believes is essential for their success. He mentioned that Asoli has been active on social media platforms for the past five to six months to promote its initiatives and has also held numerous meetings with members.

In addition to conventional campaign methods, Kauandenge noted that Asoli has engaged in one-on-one meetings with individuals at their homes. He expressed confidence in the association’s victory, stating that their message and slogan, “Let’s pull each other up,” resonate strongly with residents in the targeted localities.

Asoli has appointed a team of experienced candidates to lead the campaign in Windhoek, the country’s largest municipality. The team includes former Popular Democratic Movement councillor Brunhilde Cornelius, along with Belinda Naomi, Shivela Haraseb, Godfried Sapula Kauhanda, Betty Malambo Nalisa, Paheeuarue Hengari, and Boy-Boy Tjivava.
